Elmsford, NY, January 2018— Unitex, a regional business with locations throughout the Northeast and a leader in the healthcare laundry industry, continues to grow with the acquisition of Medi-Clean Healthcare Laundry Service, LLC, a Pennsylvania based healthcare laundry company.  The highly regarded, eight-year-old company has provided high-quality healthcare laundry programs to clients across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.  With this acquisition, Unitex will integrate over 450 Medi-Clean customers and will bring Co-founder and Owner of Medi-Clean, Joe Mastin, in as a Regional Operations Manager overseeing the New Jersey market with plants in New Brunswick  and Perth Amboy New Jersey.  In his new role, Mastin will be reporting to Unitex’s VP of Operations, Rob Potack.  Before founding Medi-Clean, Mastin spent 24 years at Nixon Uniform and Medical Wear where he served as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer during this period.

“We are excited to bring these two companies together and equally excited to have Joe on board to work with us,” said David Potack, President of Unitex. “His deep knowledge and experience of running laundry businesses for many years,

is going to significantly enhance our leadership team and help bring valuable experience to Unitex. We are also looking forward to seamlessly transitioning Medi-Clean customers over to our service, and we happy to say that we are already well on our way with that process.  We are proud to serve them and look forward to long term relationships with everyone.”

“I’ve known Michael Potack for over 15 years and was always very impressed by him and the company he has built,” said Joe Mastin, new Regional Operations Manager, Unitex.  “When the lease expired at my plant and we had to consider relocating after 9 years, I decided to sell my company and there was no other company that I would consider other than Unitex. Although Michael, David and Robert Potack run this huge and successful company, they are still a true family business, treating everyone as a part of their family. I can now say that I am part of that family and it’s a great honor to be working with them.”
